Privacy policy
Short, because there is not much to say: we do not have accounts, we do not sell data, and there is nothing here to log into.
What we collect
- Analytics. Renter Volt uses Google Analytics 4 to see which pages get read and which buy links get clicked. It records page views, approximate location derived from IP, device and browser type, and the referring site. We use it to decide what to write next.
- Affiliate click events. When you click a buy button, we record that a click happened, on which page, and for which product. That event carries no personal information — it is a count, not a profile, and it is the only way we can tell which recommendations are useful.
- What you type into the contact form. Your name, email address, chosen subject and message. It is emailed to us and used to reply to you. It is not added to any list.
- Standard server logs at our hosting provider, which include IP addresses and are retained for a limited period for security and abuse prevention.
What we do not collect
- Accounts, passwords or profiles. There is nothing to log into.
- Payment information of any kind. We are not a retailer and never handle a transaction.
- A newsletter list. We do not have one.
- Anything from the contact form beyond what you typed into it.
We do not sell, rent or trade personal information, and there is no arrangement under which anybody else receives it.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies to distinguish visits. Blocking them in your browser, or using any common content blocker, prevents them entirely and nothing on this site breaks — analytics is not load-bearing for anything you can see. We set no advertising cookies of our own.
Affiliate links
Buy links pass through our own /go/ address before continuing to the retailer. That redirect exists so we can change where a link points without rewriting every page, and it records nothing about you personally.
The retailer you arrive at will set its own cookies and apply its own privacy policy, which is outside our control. Amazon’s applies once you are on Amazon. How the affiliate relationship works.
Opting out
- Block cookies, or use a content blocker. Analytics stops and the site works normally.
- Install Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on, which works site-wide across the web.
- Do not use the contact form, if you would rather not send an email address. There is nothing else on the site that asks for one.
Data requests
If you have used the contact form and want the message deleted, email info@rentervolt.com and it will be. For anything else, there is genuinely nothing to retrieve: we hold no account, no profile and no record connected to you.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the last-reviewed date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be noted on the page rather than made silently.
